Biography: Dorothy Jean (Wooley) Ludvigson was born in Cherokee, IA to Charles Meyers Wooley and Mildred Myrne Wilson Wooley on October 18, 1925, and died on June 28, 2022.
She believed in Jesus as a young child and dedicated her life to Him. She graduated from Cherokee High School as valedictorian in 1944 and was a reporter on the Cherokee Daily Times until after the end of WWII. She left the paper to attend the Minnesota Bible College in Minneapolis, MN.
When her fiancée, Melvin Ludvigson, returned from the Army, they married and both attended Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis, MN. They had three sons and when ill health affected their income she returned to the college, where she made Phi Beta Kapa in her junior year, graduating from the University of Minnesota with two degrees, a B.S. from the College of Education and a B.A. Summa Cum Laude from the College of Liberal Arts. She later graduated from Bemidji State College with a M.S. in counseling. Dorothy taught English for 20 years at the Forest Lake Junior High School in Forest Lake, MN, before they retired to the South for Melvin’s health.
In Little Rock they became active at the Fellowship Bible Church serving in prayer and missionary outreach and The Bible Church of Little Rock. She also taught English to the Internationals at Friendship International, a Baptist outreach for 20 years.
She is survived by two sons Daniel of Little Rock, AR and Timothy (Debbie) of Longview, TX. 4 grandsons, Ryan, Brent, Drew and Phillip and a granddaughter, Gretchen Schulz. She was married to Melvin for 65 years before his death in 2012.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin, her sister Waneta Russell and son, David.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR. A memorial service will be held at 11:15 a.m. on the same day at Bible Church of Little Rock.
