Biography: Shirley Brovender Barron passed away on May 25, 2022 at age 96. She was born May 4, 1926 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to the late Rebecca Pierce Brovender and Maurice J. Brovender.
           
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Almen L. Barron of Little Rock, her brother Sgt. Observer Jacob L. Brovender of Timmins, Ontario, and sister Dorothy Brovender Lieff of Ottawa, Ontario. She is survived by her son, Joshua C. Barron, grandson, Jared J. Barron and wife Brittany, and daughter-in-law Tammy Baker.
           
Mrs. Barron was a member of Temple B’nai Israel, a Life Member of Arkansas Hadassah, and a Life Member of the UAMS Medical Center Auxiliary where her late husband was a member of the faculty.
           
She was interred at a private graveside service in Little Rock’s Oakland Fraternal Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers or arrangements memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
