Biography:

Kathryn Emalyn Foster Malloy went to be with her creator on the night of May 16, 2022, after many beautiful years with friends and family in Shreveport & Little Rock. Kathryn was the only child of Mr. Rogers R. Foster and Mary Belle Harman Foster, of Shreveport, LA, via Leesville and Crowley, LA, respectively, and her father’s 2d wife, Nina Belle May Foster. Kathryn grew up in Shreveport, LA, but moved to North Little Rock, AR in 1968 with her life-long husband of 61 years, F. Charles Malloy, Jr. and her young and budding family. She later moved to Little Rock, AR, in 1976, where she lived until the day she died.

Kathryn was the mother of 5 boys whom she loved dearly, was predeceased by her youngest son, John Christopher Malloy, and is survived by her husband, F. Charles Malloy, Jr., and her other 4 sons and all 11 of her grandchildren (who know her as their, “Kackey”). Survivors are: her eldest son, Charles Foster Malloy and his children, Charles Foster Malloy, II, and Julianna Louise Malloy, her 2d born son, Michael Frank Malloy and his wife, Karen Fletcher Malloy, and their 3 children, Matthew Fletcher Malloy, Ashby Emlyn Malloy, Mary Kathryn Malloy, her 3d born son, Stephen Rogers Malloy and his 2 sons, Matthew Stephen Malloy and Michael Graham Malloy, and finally her 4th born son, Paul Douglas Malloy and his wife Crystal Sinkey Malloy and their 4 girls, Caitlyn Elizabeth Malloy Nims (her husband, Brian Eugene Nims), Mary-Claire Emalyn Malloy, Caroline Lilly Malloy, and Emma Kathryn Malloy.

Kathryn attended A.C. Steere grade school, Broadmoor Jr High School, St Vincent High School and graduated C.E. Byrd High School, all in Shreveport, LA, then went on to attend both LSU in Baton Rouge, LA and then she later attended LSU-S in Shreveport.

Kathryn was a devout Catholic & Christian of unwavering faith. She was a member of many parishes though the years, including St Joseph’s Catholic Church and Cathedral of St John Berchmans, both in Shreveport, and St. Patrick’s, Christ the King, Holy Souls, and Cathedral of St Andrew, all in Little Rock, AR.

A lifelong mother and housewife (self described as, “The Mother Pelican”), Kathryn also worked and wore many hats. In her younger days she started out as a fashion and newspaper photography model, then she operated her own interior design and decorator business and dealt in antique furniture and artwork, promoting many local and regional artists. She was known affectionately by her friends, family, and clientele by her fun nickname, “Dora Decorator” and was known as the queen of finding the right “Spotted Spiffydoer” for her clients. In her latter years she succeeded her father as owner of the family businesses.

May Kathryn rest in peace forever. She will be gravely missed by all.

Kathryn’s funeral service and mass will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 3:00pm at the Cathedral of St Andrew in Little Rock, AR, and she will be laid to rest on Sat. May 21, 2022, at 2:00pmat Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, LA, with reception afterwards at The Catholic Center, 3500 Fairfield Ave., Shreveport, LA. There will be a rosary held prior at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock, AR.
