Biography: Amy Susanne Huffman Boyce, born June 6, 1977, in Springdale, Arkansas, died April 25th, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Growing up in Jonesboro, Amy was active in her high school and community. She graduated with honors from Jonesboro High School. She attended Lyon College in Batesville where she sang in the school choir, served on the alumnae council, was a member of Alpha Chi honor society, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999. She worked for a time in institutional advancement for Lyon. Amy was a devoted member of Phi Mu sorority, where she formed long lasting bonds with dear friends, whom she considers her sisters. After graduation, she attended the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville. She practiced law for several years in Little Rock and then worked in Human Resources at Maverick Transportation.

Music was a constant in her life, being an accomplished pianist, organist and vocalist. She shared her talents with the Chamber Singers choir in Little Rock, as organist at numerous churches in Fayetteville and near Lyon College, and as a piano teacher at Adventures in the Arts at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. She also served as music director at First Methodist Church in England, Arkansas, for several years.

Amy was known as a devoted friend, wife, and mother. Her laid-back style and ready smile endeared her to everyone. As a “boy mom”, she found herself shuttling between sports practices and games for Lawson but cherished any time she spent with her sons. She and Jon loved great food, live music, vacationing at the beach or lake, and simple evenings on the porch.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of nearly 15 years, Jon, son Lawson, and stepson, Jackson Boyce. She is also remembered dearly by her brother Alex Huffman of Jonesboro and Aunt Sara and Uncle Eddie Johnston, her guardians since childhood, as well as mother-in-law, Mary Boyce, of Little Rock, father-in-law, Robert Boyce of North Little Rock, and sister-in-law Robin Everitt (Ladd), of Silver Spring, Maryland, as well as her nieces Grace and Marin Everitt. She leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Larry and Susan Huffman, and grandparents Bernadine Gent, Leona Gent, Grover Gent and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Huffman.

A service celebrating Amy’s life will be held on Friday June 17, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.  Burial will take place in the church columbarium.

Memorials may be sent to the Jon Lawson Boyce Education Fund at 1001 N. University Avenue, Suite 100, Little Rock, AR, 72207.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Jim, I am terribly sorry for your loss. I’m at a loss for words. You know I’m just a phone call away, if you need anything.

Please share this prayer with me:

Eternal rest grant unto Any of Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the Mercy of God, Rest In Peace. Amen.
