Biography: A light was dimmed on earth, but Heaven rejoiced, as our Lord Jesus Christ called home His faithful servant, Daniel Brennan Kemp, Sr. on Thursday morning, April 21, 2022. He was a much beloved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle, cousin, friend, and mentor.

Dan, 68, was of the Catholic faith. He attended Holy Souls School, graduated from Catholic High School for Boys in Little Rock, AR and graduated with a degree in business from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He worked in retail at Dillards before starting his 40 year career in investments. Dan showed his love of the Lord and others through his impeccable ability to consistently be available for his immediate family, while also working tirelessly serving his beloved clients and the community as a past board member of both UALR Friends of the Arts and the Baptist Health Foundation. Dan was of the loyal member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Over the last several years, Ann and Dan spent time in Osceola enjoying the small town life while creating memories with old and new friends. They loved attending mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, which was in walking distance of their home.

As a man of loyalty, integrity, and honor, he lived by the motto "Quietly do the right thing" and he never failed to help anyone that reached out to him in need. Dan loved the Lord, his family, his longtime friends, his home, The Weather Channel, lake time, beach time and telling great stories on the porch. Dan had a passion for weather and aviation. He began pursuing aviation training in high school and received his pilot license in the 90’s. He enjoyed taking his family on recreational flights across Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Letzig Kemp and Edgar Ray Kemp, Jr.; his in-laws Marian Tompkins Teaford and Ambrose Eugene Teaford and his brother Bill Kemp. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 47 years, Ann Elizabeth Teaford Kemp, who never left his side; daughter Amy Harkins, son-in-law James, and precious grandson Alex; daughter Molly Humphries, son-in-law Matt and precious grandchildren Helen and David; wonderful sons Brennan Kemp and Chris Kemp; sweet nieces Catherine Ann and Rebecca; sister Ellen and brother Michael, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
We mourn the loss of our beloved Dan, but Heaven's light is now brighter.

Friends are cordially invited to a Vigil with the family at 5:30 p.m. and a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 25th 2022, at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock, AR.

For those desiring, a contribution in Dan’s memory may be directed to: St. Matthew Catholic Church, PO Box 583, Osceola, AR 72370.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear husband, Dan. I knew Dan growing up in Little Rock. My brother and he were great friends and we spent many happy times in Destin, Florida vacationing together....he went with our family several times on vacation. Throughout my high school years he was actually my closest " guy" friend....he was a wonderful confidant and always so kind. One could not find a better man....I'm so glad he was blessed with such a wonderful family. I'm sure heaven rejoiced when he entered. Please know you are all in my prayers. May God comfort you.
