Biography:

David Wesley Jarratt, 49, of Maumelle, AR, left this life unexpectedly in the early morning hours of March 7, 2022.  He leaves a void that will be impossible to fill.

Born on February 3, 1973, to Weldon and Nancy (Slaughter) Jarratt of Fort Worth, TX, Dave was described by everyone as a great friend, amazing leader, role model, Mustang aficionado, helluva guy,

the best father ever, and a one-in-a-million husband. A graduate of Texas A&M College of Agricultural Economics, Dave enjoyed a career in supply chain and logistics management, most recently being part of the launch team for Amazon’s LIT1 facility.  Most of his Arkansas friends and coworkers forgave him for being an Aggie through and through.

He loved his family even more than his beloved whiskey on a weekend night. He wed his wife, Susannah, on January 2, 2021, after a short but pandemically-intense courtship. With his much-adored sons as their sidekicks, the #jarrattpartyoffive packed more adventure and fun in their short time together than most people enjoy in a lifetime. Their most cherished times were spent in the driveway around the firepit with their cul-de-sac “framily”.

Dave is survived by his parents, Weldon and Nancy Jarratt and brothers James Calkins and Bill Calkins, his pride and joys - his three sons, Grayson, Zane, and Blake Jarratt, their mother, Dr. Kelly Pizzitola, and his soulmate/wife, Susannah (Scruggs) Jarratt. He also is also survived by too many in-laws, outlaws, other relatives and loved ones to list.

Dave’s life will be memorialized Saturday, March 12 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church (1201 Edgewood Drive, Maumelle, AR  72113). Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home (Little Rock, AR). The family would like to invite all whose lives have been touched by Dave in any way to join them in celebrating his life.

We became acquainted with David when we started attending the Edge Park United Methodist Church in September 1978. The Seekers Sunday School Class was the young people's class at that time. Weldon & Nancy were members and had a 5 year old then. Our families became good friends as we had an 8 year old son and 10 year daughter and some of the Seekers Class parties included family. We have remained good friends to this day. We offer our condolences from this continuing friendship.

We are incredibly sad to hear that Dave passed away. Dave and I became friends at Target and that friendship continued through many years. He cared about me and my family and how our business was doing at Arkansas Armory. He loved to come to our shop and check in on us. He is a friend that will be greatly missed.
