Biography: Bette Bogart, of Little Rock went to be with her heavenly father on February 13, 2022, at the age of 87.   She was born on December 9 in Forest Park, Illinois to Ruth and Leonard Kohl.   At the age of 14, she moved with her family to Camden, Ark.   She graduated from Fairview High School where she played on the basketball team.  After graduation she moved to Little Rock where she met and married Henry Bogart.

Early on she coached the girls basketball team at First Lutheran School where her daughters attended.   She was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for many years and led the Children's Sunday school classes.  She hosted the annual Easter Egg Hunt at her house for many years for the children and families of Grace.   She loved the Lord,  life and her family and  was a loving and generous person.  She was always willing to help in any capacity that she could.  She made everything she did fun whether it was singing or dancing.

In 1977 after attending garage sales as a hobby, she decided to become an "estate sale planner".  This lead to an estate sale business that she conducted until she retired in 2017 when she handed the reins over to her daughter Deena Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Anne Stickler and Patsy Woodral, husband Henry Bogart, and grandson Zachary Arnold.   She is survived by her brother Bill Kohl; two daughters Ramona DeMilt and Deena Reynolds (Paul); four grandchildren Dalton Arnold (Sydney), Hunter Goodwin, Sr. (Holly), Adam Reynolds (Rachael), Drake Reynolds (Riley); five great grandchildren Hunter Goodwin, Jr., Henry Arnold, Olivia Arnold, Kaleb Reynolds and Kyndall Myers and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial visitation will be held Monday February 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., with a service at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church on Hillcrest in Little Rock.

Donations or memorials may be made in lieu of flowers, in Bette's name to Grace Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Bette will greatly be missed, such a dear! My husband and I knew her only as customers at the estate sales she organized and managed so well with her daughters, who were just as kind-natured--and business savvy--as their mother. Bette's friendliness, kindness, sense of humor, and impeccable ethics made her a thoroughly delightful lady. We send our sincere condolences to the entire family--who can be sure their mother's safely at Home in her Savior's care.

I knew Mrs B. through her fun sales here in the Little Rock area. She was patient, smartand kind to all.. I am sincerely sorry I will not be seeing her in the future. (Some folks just make life more enjoyable - and she did!) May her family be blessed with the solace of Jesus Christ and the promise of Heaven for Christian believers.

It saddens me to hear of Bette’s passing. She introduced my mother and I to how estate sales could become a habit that was fun to have. When she first started out she wasn’t crazy about little ones being brought along. She made an exception to my little boy Donnie, who grew up loving her sales. Years later my second son Jeremy tagged along with me and equally loved her sales and her. Bette was never too busy to talk in length with me or them. My boys are grown now (46 & 32) and their knowledge and love of how estate sales are run is because of Bette and how she treated them. She will always be in our hearts.

We are so sorry to learn of Bette's passing. She was such a wonderful person. I started my Camark collection with an item I found at one of the sales she did and once wrote about her in a feature story for The Associated Press but somehow I never knew we went to the same high school.

Bette was a bright light whether it was conducting the church Easter Egg hunt or an estate sale. She was ever a faithful servant.
