Biography: FRANK PRESTON BUCHNER, 56, of Little Rock, died peacefully at his home on January 27, 2022.

He was born in Little Rock on September 4, 1965 to Emily Hall of Little Rock, and Clark A. Buchner,III, of Memphis. He is survived by his parents, wife Amy Bashaw Buchner of Tulsa, OK, and two daughters who were the apples of his eye, Mary Elizabeth of Phoenix, AZ, and Ruth Eileen of Tulsa, and his brother, C. Andrew Buchner (Melissa) of Memphis. Other survivors include his aunt, Marilyn Hall, cousins Frank Hall (Sherry), David Hall, Frank McKinney, Elizabeth (Iboo) Deal Miller and Debbie Deal Wyman, all of Little Rock. He was also survived in death by his beloved dogs, Bella his black lab, Mamie and Walter his preferred companions above all else.

Preston was a 1984 graduate of Catholic High School for Boys. He attended Westminister College where he was a member of the Delta Tau Chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law at Little Rock and practiced law in Little Rock for several years.

Preston was his own person – in one word, he was creative. An innovative thinker, he was instrumental in the early days of the brew pub at Vino’s many years before “craft” beer was popular. Fortunately, or unfortunately, he also relished sharing his moonshine with his family and friends! He loved cooking and baking – he had a knack for perfectly smoking meats of all varieties, baking the most amazing bite-sized melt in your mouth biscuits and his famous brownie bottom pecan cheesecake that would put Julia Childs to shame! He shared his brother’s love for archeology and artifacts, and he had a deep love and appreciation for nature and the great outdoors and proudly received the coveted and highly respected honor of Eagle Scout. He especially loved duck and deer hunting and spending time at the Big Piney with his lifelong friend John Fletcher. These times were precious gifts in his life.

Preston overcame many serious health issues from childhood through adulthood but these struggles made him stronger and gave him a different and unique perspective on life.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for contributions to be made to: Paws in Prison Foundation, 1302 Pike Avenue, Suite C, North Little Rock, AR 72114, Bishop Kelley High School, 3905 S. Hudson Ave, Tulsa, OK 74135 or Muddy Paws Helping People, 2234 E 56th Place, Tulsa, OK 74105.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Ruebel Funeral Home with a graveside service the following day, Wednesday February 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

I think the sentence “ Preston was his own person”, pretty much sums up the Preston I knew & grew up with! By growing up with I mean by babysitting he and Andrew. I was the one who called his parents because he apparently was in so much pain, thus beginning (I believe) his path into numerous medical adventures. He was around 5 years old. From what he eventually evolved from medically, to the impressive man he became, is just impressive! He paved quite a wide path in life, and we will continue to benefit as a result. Even though I wasn’t in contact with him as much since we all grew and went on our own path, every time I was, it seemed like we hadn’t missed a beat. I’m sorry to of learned of his passing, and hope only the best for his family/friends. RIP Preston

I knew Preston from Blue Bead days and helping he and Amy at gun shows.
Preston was a great friend very smart and with a sharp wit. Every time I came by his shop we would have great conversations about guns, politics, jeeps, etc.
Condolences to Amy and his girls. Rest In Peace Preston.

I will always remember Preston for his sharp wit and ability to hold his own in debates with me. He had a great love of nature and was always handy when a trail needed clearing or when one of my gardening tools needed mending. He could make biscuits from scratch, something I would never attempt. So glad I got to spend time with him at Peach Orchard Bluff and the Big Piney last year, precious memories. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
