Biography: Charles James Lincoln, II, of Little Rock, died Monday, May 8, 2006. He was born in Little Rock to the late Charles Knox and Erma Culbert Lincoln. Charles was a graduate of Swain Military Academy later attending the University of Arkansas where he received his B.A. and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas Law School. Prior to his graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp as a Corporal during World War II, experiencing combat in the South Pacific. Before the war’s end he was a graduate of Officers Training School becoming a pilot flying cargo planes in the China and South Pacific Campaigns. He obtained the rank of Captain. Upon his return to Arkansas he became a partner with the firm of House, Holmes and Jewel, later forming his own firm. His passion was the law and he was a practicing attorney at the time of his death. He was a member of the Arkansas and American Bar Associations, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, American Transportation Lawyers, and an Emeritus Member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court as well as various State and Federal Courts all over the U.S. as his practice extended nationally and world wide. Charles is survived by his wife Jean B. Lincoln of Little Rock, sons; Charles Knox Lincoln II of Little Rock, Major James Merritt Culbert Lincoln and wife Olga of Vicenza, Italy, Ivy Glen Lincoln and wife Jacquelyn of Little Rock, step-son; James Porter and wife Patience of Little Rock, 2 sisters; Irma Hampton of Little Rock, Rose Forbes of Little Rock, 2 nephews; Dr. John R. Hampton, III and wife Melissa, Robert M. Eubanks, Jr. and wife Kim both of Little Rock, 2 nieces; Irma Hampton of Austin, Texas, Helen Murchison and husband Clint of Dallas, Texas, 1 cousin; Rose Pickens of Longview, Texas, 2 grandchildren; Daniel Lincoln of Little Rock, Julia Sites and husband Matt of Little Rock, step-grandson Clay Porter of San Francisco, Joe Porter and wife Alice of Little Rock, step-grandson; Mark Woodall of Memphis, step-grand daughter Keri Woodall of Fayetteville and his latest great joy, grandson Misha of Vicenza, Italy. There will be a graveside service at Mount Holly Cemetery Friday May 12th, at 1pm, officiated by The Very Reverend Henry Hudson, followed by a reception at The Country Club of Little Rock.
