Biography: Connie Margaret Starnes, 74 of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021.

Connie was born on January 6, 1947, in Lewellen, Nebraska to Carl and Margaret Callen.  Connie attended Ogallala public schools where she went on to graduate high school in 1965.

After graduation from high school, Connie pursued a degree in secondary education at the University of Nebraska.  Connie graduated from University of Nebraska in 1969, and then relocated to Santa Maria, California where she taught school and met and married Dr. Harry Starnes on August 22, 1975.  They settled in Clinton Arkansas in 1993 where she worked as an office manager for her husband’s practice until her retirement.

Connie was known by many as a fun, thoughtful and compassionate friend and will be remembered as a blessing to the local community.   She loved to play cards and was a long-time member of the Idle Hour Bridge Club.   She was a member of the Iris Garden Club, an active member of the Clinton United Methodist Church and participated in various volunteer projects including the Ozark Health Services Foundation annual Gala committee as well as the United Methodist Thrift Shop.

Connie loved to organize, plan, and execute wonderful social events that provided many great memories.  She had an ability to make her family and friends feel special at all times.   She loved to cook, share in fellowship with family and friends, and was at her happiest when was with her children and grandchildren.  When enduring hard losses or times of sorrow, she would always remind us that even though someone may have gone away from our homes, they will never leave our hearts.  Connie will always be a part of our hearts and we will miss her forever.

Connie is survived by her children, Jennie (Alan), Michael, Ben (Katy) and Sarah (Chris) and by her grandchildren Heather, Harrison, Alex, Brooks, Charlotte, and Will.  She is also survived by her siblings, Marilyn and Charles (Vickey) and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Harry, her granddaughter, Bryn Margaret Baguley and her parents Carl and Margaret.

A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home on Monday December 20th from 5pm-7pm.  A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held St. James United Methodist Church at 10am on Tuesday December 21st, 2021.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
