Biography: Donald Ray Nutt, 83, of Little Rock passed away at home on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. He was born November 26, 1937 to Vance and Lois Nutt of Mineral Springs, Arkansas.
He graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1955 as Valedictorian. He attended the University of Arkansas College of Engineering in Fayetteville where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering on January 30, 1960 and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering on June 3, 1961. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. He was in the Army Reserves where he earned the rank of First Lieutenant.
He joined Crist Engineers in 1962. As a Professional Engineer, he and the other members of the firm designed water and sewage treatment plants all over Arkansas. He retired in 2006 as Vice President of the firm. He was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Civil Engineering in 1989 and served on the fundraising committee. He was a Gold Member of the University of Arkansas Alumni Association.
He was a quiet gentleman with a sneaky sense of humor. He is loved by many for his kindness and generosity. He loved gospel music concerts, Arkansas Razorback games, his family, friends and his church.
He is predeceased by his wife, Wynelle Poole Nutt, and his granddaughter Emily Elizabeth Burrows. He is survived by his children Laurie Nutt Burrows of Alma and Larry Nutt of Little Rock; his grandchildren Courtney Burrows of Fayetteville, Scott Burrows of Alma, and Richard Burrows of Van Buren; and his sister Janis Watkins of Dallas.
A memorial service will be held November 17, 2021 at 1:00 at Saint Michael's Episcopal Church in Little Rock. His ashes will be interred next to his wife and granddaughter at St. Michael's.
