One thing that brings me comfort during my losses, is the Bible's hope of a resurrection. Jesus said at John 5:28,29: "the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."
Also, knowing that God is not the cause of death is comforting. Hebrews 2:14 says: "he (Jesus) will bring to nothing the one having the means to cause death, that is, the Devil."
When Lazarus died, Jesus grieved. John 11:35 says: "Jesus gave way to tears." So if Jesus grieved, even though he was about to resurrect Lazarus, then surely he feels for those of us who grieve.
Once again, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Even though these scriptures cannot erase your pain, hopefully they will provide some comfort.
Very Sincerely,
Scott Smith
