Dear Richard and Family,
We are saddened at the news of Lenora's passing. Our three children were lucky enough to have her as their kindergarten teacher at John Eaton. They loved her and she clearly loved them and all her students. I will forever think of her tap dancing to "Robin in the Rain" at the school talent shows. What a great fun-loving teacher she was!

I remember my son coming home from John Eaton elementary talking about Ms. Steinkamp. He talked non stop about the wonderful time he was having in school and what an amazing teacher he had. Every year she took each the students to the Krispy Kreme Donut Factory. Ms Steinkamp would have Mr Steinkamp come to help her entertain the kids. Leonora was destined to be a teacher and restored my faith in the public school system in DC. She was a delight to know and as many have mentioned, her smile lit up the room. She will remain in my thoughts forever for having brought out the best in my son. Sending you love and strength Richard for the days ahead. We are so sorry for your loss. Richard, I was so sorry to read about Lenora. Just seeing her photo, however, made me smile, remembering our Zumba classes and conversations about politics and all things DC. May her memory be a blessing.

Dear 'family of Lenora,'

MY neighbor - Michael Walls - in NLR, used to sing sweet stories about his special pal, Lenora allllllllllllllllllll the time. They had many treasure hunting trips to Memphis, that proved to be mini-sojourns of laughter and pure fun. Michael had to have been the head of her Fan Club! This darling woman was a Southern Lady in the finest traditions -- share'n her multiple talents, she spread joy and wisdom and left behind a legacy that will be remembered long into many tomorrows. May all who loved and admired Lenora be blessed with Peace and Understanding.
tomorrows. I extned to all, my sincerest sympathies.

So sadden by the news of Lenora’s passing. She was a wonderful person + kindergarten teacher to my daughter Brett Isaacs (24 years old) + Owen Isaacs (22years old) at John Eaton Elementary School in Washington, DC. Lenora was kind, thoughtful, and a great smiley burst of energy that I greatly appreciated + admired. She will be missed.

Words always fail on deeply sad occasions like this but they are all we have. I just want to say to Richard we feel your loss acutely, we are thinking about you, we miss Lenora now but foresee this missing going on forever, and so we know our loss is nothing to yours, and again so we search for words of comfort, and the only small thought I have is that Lenora's life has now entered the infinite, it is a whole, and the joy she brought to the many people she knew, the warmth she brought, all the kindness she showed, everything she is and was for all of us, that continues and resonates, also forever. Blessings on you and yours and especially on Lenora, a truly special fully realized person.

Her dinner parties in DC and LR were "exquisite" perfect gatherings and she was the life of the party in every way. Her heart was big and our souls were blessed to have known her. Peace to Richard and her sons.
