Lloyd was born in Traskwood, Arkansas.  His family later relocated to Little Rock where he attended public schools.  He was a graduate of Little Rock High School and was a veteran serving in the Army from 1951-1953.

Lloyd had a long career in the service of others.  His congenial personality was reflected in his extensive career.  Lloyd and Lucy were long-time residents of Russellville.  He worked in the banking industry and later managed the Howard Johnson Motel.  They moved to Texas to manage other properties in Mt. Pleasant and Paris, Texas.  Upon returning to Russellville, they bought and he managed Lloyd’s Jewelers.  Later, they made their residence in Little Rock.  Lloyd was involved in the hospitality industry at the Little Rock Visitor Information Center at the Bill and Hillary Clinton Airport.  He always greeted everyone with a joyful heart and a welcoming smile.  He was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church where he spent many hours volunteering.

He loved his family and is survived by his nieces, Jane Mobley Turney (Howard) of Little Rock, Joy L. Williams (Grady) of Conway, and Dana Reeves (Clay) of Fort Smith.  He is also survived by his nephew, Mike Mobley (Tasha) and sister-in-law, Mary Mobley, of Benton.  Great-nieces include Meredith Reeves and Sara Reeves of Ft. Smith and great-nephews Howard “Bo” Moose Turney, Jr. (MollieKate) of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Reid Mobley of Benton.  He leaves behind his wonderful canine companion, Baxter.  He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Mobley and Danny Mobley, and niece, JeJo Mobley.

Special thanks to Dr. Richard Houk for his medical care over the years and to Thom Battles, a loyal friend and caregiver.

A private graveside service will be held.  Donations may be made to the JeJo Mobley Endowment Fund at PHUMC Foundation or a charity of your choice.

I met my second cousin, mr. Lloyd Mobley, in Traskwood at a Mobley family reunion which at that time was Dolly Mobley’s birthday celebration. In the years after that when I was as at the reunion I was always greeted with a smile and reminisce about time he spent with my parents, aunts & uncles. He was a kind man and always went out of his way to make everyone welcome. Our condolences to immediate family and all other family he is sorely missed. Randy & Sue Simmons

To Lloyds Family,
It is with great sadness that I read his obituary. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Lloyd by his dear friend, my Mother/Julianna, at PHUMC. Lloyd and I shared the love of animal’s especially our dogs. My parents traveled more than me and always were greater with his smile at the LR airport. I know he was also loved by his dear friend, Gay, that lived in HS. I know Heaven gained a special angel Aug 17th! His presence will be missed by many and I will miss not sending him Christmas pictures of my dogs and hearing about his. May his smile and hugs be remembered and cherished

We will miss Lloyd's genuine friendliness and smile when we visit Little Rock. When Paula worked at the airport she told me about her friend Lloyd who worked there and brought sunshine wherever he went. With my first visit I was welcomed by Lloyd with a big bearhug. He was a real mensch!! (GOOD PERSON). It won't be the same coming down the airport escalator and looking for Lloyd and my big hug!! Cliff & Paula G.

My condolences to the family. We worked together at the LRCVB for a bit and bumping into each other at Jason's Deli, or later years at the airport, he always had a smile and a hug for me. A life well lived and serving our Lord. He was a light anywhere he went. Much love and comfort to you all.

Lloyd was such a good man and friend. I worked for Southwest Airlines and it was such a pleasure to see that smile when I was coming down the escalator. Lloyd knew no stranger. He had endless energy and would do anything for anyone. A true angel, God bless his family and know he was definitely loved!!

Lloyd was loved by the McDonalds Coffee Club Members. I first met Lloyd there along with Barb, Sue, Bobbye, Kathy, Leigh and others that would join us through the years. There was so much laughter, comraderie and morning and it was a great start for our day. Know that you are missed. I know you are in Heaven singing and rejoicing with the angels.

To Lloyd’s Family…
You’ve lost the brightest, shining jewel in your family. Lloyd was a personal friend for several years. We started having coffee at McDonalds every morning several years ago. There were about five or six of us. Then we moved to Burger King when the pandemic closed McDonalds.
Lloyd was always cheerful and sharing. He liked to give my grandson the two-dollar bills for his birthday. Matt loved him like a grandfather. I will miss my phone’s “ping” at 8:15 am with Lloyd’s text just to let me know he was awake. He was so loved by all who knew him.
