Biography: On Friday, August 13th, 2021, Carol Parkin Hoffman, loving wife and mother of two children passed away at home at the age of 75. Carol was born on April 29th, 1946 to Virginia “Nana” and Harry Parkin. Carol graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a degree in journalism. On December 31st, 1985 she married Charles Hoffman and they raised two sons Scott and Brit.

She loved to be active and never once considered stopping working. She lived her life through her sons, grandkids, and daughter in laws. She loved spending time with family – whether it was vacations, decorating for holidays, grandkid visits or facetime calls and we have many wonderful memories as a family doing just those things – she was just “mom”.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; sons, Scott and Brit Hunter; daughter in laws, Kym and Cindy Hunter; granddaughters, Kira and Alyssa Hunter and grandsons, Connor and Riley Hunter. She is also survived by her sister, Jane McMullin as well as nieces and nephews, Vicki Kirchoff and Andrew Saunders.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 17th at 11am in the Chapel at Second Presbyterian Church. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Carol’s name.

I was shocked and saddened by Carol’s sudden passing. My heart goes out to her family. Know that she will be very much missed by her work family. She was so very proud of her kids and grandkids and spoke of them often. Prayers for all those left behind.

Carol grew up next door. We shared many memories growing up on Edgewood. Lots of fun activities until it was dark then we all headed home. Sorry we saw little of each other as adults. It sounds as if you had a full life with sons, their wives and grandchildren. I know you will missed but the legacy will live on through them.
