Biography:
Joe Gwin Phillips passed away on July 9, 2021.
He was born in Mackenzie, Tennessee on September 23, 1935.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Bessie Phillips. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Evans Phillips (Tom Frothingham); his brother, Jerry Phillips(Linda), and his nephews, Stephen Phillips(Karen) and Stephen Phillips.
Joe was a retired professor of photography at UALR, where he touched the lives of his many students.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County.
Robin and I send an abundance of sympathy, peace and love to you at this sad time. I have so many good memories of my years at the Art Department at UALR with Joe, my friendship with Helen. and the happy times in your studio with my girls. We are surrounded by the wonderful art they made with you. Take care my old friend! Susan
