Biography: Mary Dee Butler Lynch died at home on July 28, 2007. Dee was born in 1917 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Her parents were Col. Braxton DeGreve Butler and his wife, Clotilda Eliza Butler. She is survived by her husband, Brig. General James H. Lynch of Little Rock; her brother, Braxton DeGreve Butler, II, and his wife Emily of Huntsville, Alabama; son, James Patrick Lynch and his wife, Jolynn, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Sherry and her husband, George Worthen, of Little Rock; and grandchildren, Bryan Lynch, Emilie Worthen, and Ellen Worthen. Dee grew up an Army brat and married 2nd Lt. Jim Lynch at Fort Brenning, Georgia, in 1939. She loved the Army life and all the adventures and people she encountered. They retired to Augusta, Georgia, in 1968 and happily lived there. Recently, they moved to Little Rock. There will be a private graveside service at Mt. Holly Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to Mt. Holly Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 250118, Little Rock, 72215; or Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th St., Little Rock, 72206.

Dear Lynch Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of great loss. Mrs. dee was a very special person to me and the company I work for. I know she is in a better place with no more suffering and we all will get to see her smiling face on day. My the peace of Jesus Christ be with you all.

My love and prayers to the family. Miss Dee was a truly great lady. I learned so much from her and the General. The world has lost so much. Personally, I will always keep a piece of her when I fix the St Paul's Rice recipe I got from her years ago. Love to all.
