Biography:

Nancy Jan Holder Evans joined the church triumphant May 28th, 2021.  Nancy was born on October 8th 1936 in Eldorado, AR.  Her parents that have preceded her were Fred Holder, Jr, and Marian Hatley Holder Zinger.  Her husband Jack preceded her in 2019.

She is survived by her two children, Jennifer Lynn Waters and Jeffrey Scott Wilson (Tracy), two wonderful sisters: Melissa Holder Hinton (Robert) and Mary Ellen Holder.  Grandchildren include Liam Selvey, Jessie Selvey, Mendy Wright, and Cara Jan Wilson and six great grand children, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Nancy was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, a life-long Presbyterian and very active in the Presbytery affairs.  She was chairman of new church development when Trinity was first organized, a charter member of Westover Hills Pres Church as a teenager, and active former member of Grace Pres Church.  She served on the committee on ministry and probably her best work was president of the Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center Board in the ‘90s.  She was quoted as saying that the hiring of David Gill as executive director at Ferncliff was one of her crowning achievements.

Nancy was a devoted Mother and grandmother and matriarch sister.  She kept in touch with all the family members and enjoyed genealogy searches as well.  She was a loyal and devoted friend, School Days Girls, bridge group, bible study groups and one on one.  Each one of you is special.

The lake house at Harris Brake was a great place for the family since 1989: birthdays, mothers’ days, Thanksgiving, and Christmases – and great fishing.  Jack’s garden had the best tomatoes that were shared all over town.  Schooling bass during the July heat was great fun.  Separate boats for her and Jack were a must. Nancy was a wonderful quilter.  She made many treasured quilts for family members. Nancy had a great faith in God.  Bible study was part of her life.  She was not afraid.  She knew she was going to heaven.  And now all the questions (and there are many) will be answered.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 3, 2021 at 11am in the sanctuary of Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4501 Rahling Rd, Little Rock, AR 72223 with burial to follow in the Columbarium. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center, Trinity Presbyterian Church or Arkansas Hospice.  Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss of a beautiful lady. I knew Jack and Nancy from church but I really knew them from there dental visits. They were always a joy to see with a story to tell. I will miss our visits. Praying for Gods love to comfort the family!
