When I worked for Mr Maris back in the 90's I remember him walking around the office greeting everyone in the morning. He was a kind boss, but tough when he needed to be. I remember he loved to hunt, and that old green truck he kept in the parking lot. I remember when he wrecked it he said he'd rebuild it from the ground up if he had to. He had a zest for life that I always admired. Ms. Nanette, Ashley and Guy I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great man and a great boss and he will be missed. You are in my prayers. God bless you all.

Don't really have words for the loss of a true friend.Guy and I had many things in common and worked within those parameters on many kinds of projects over 30 years. I think I will follow instructions from my true friend and
"Be Strong",that came from III after almost every conversation we had.
May God be with the family and the many folks who were fortunate enough to know my "Brother from another Mother"

Oh My, our hearts are heavy to lose such a great guy!!! I will truly miss all my hugs when I go to his office, he would always say " come here you sweet thing and give me a hug" His smile and white hair could light up a room. He took more knowledge with him about Real Estate info than most people would learn in a lifetime. He has been there and helped in lots of deals and always had solutions to any problem that might arise.
I was so sad to know he had to bury Sadie and Ike before he left here, but he loved his Beagle also.
So go rest up my friend, I will see you again and get my hugs all caught up. We Loved you Guy and I know everyone did.!!!
Our condolences to the family, I know you are grieving, may God give you peace that passes all understanding.
Let the great shared moments be remembered and smile when you think of him, as you will every day!!!
God Bless

He has been and continues to be an inspiration to me with his strong work ethic. He would start work and I would get fax request from him at 5am. He also was very encouraging to others, reminding them to “stay strong” as a way of saying this meeting is over.

What a guy! Worked for him when I started in the mortgage business in 1972! All I know about title business came from his tutoring! A wonderful friend to have! Went by to see him a month or so back hearing he was ill & of course he
was delighted to visit as always. May God bless the family in this time of grief & loss! I have some great memories getting to know all the Maris boys

Our entire family was saddened to hear the news about Guy III. My father’s business (next door to Guys) for a billion years and their shared ownership of the Old Cantrell road partnership linked us all together directly and indirectly. My boys still remember Guy’s gun room and shooting with him. He was so knowledgeable and kind to them. Again, we are all so sorry for your great loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time.
