Biography: Sally Louise Todd Britt, 66, of Little Rock passed away May 24, 2021. Sally was born June 14, 1954 to Newton McKeeTodd Jr. and Virginia Bright Todd in Long Beach, California and grew up in Los Angeles County.
She desired to become a veterinarian and spent some weeks visiting a veterinary college in The Philippines before returning to Los Angles and working for many years in a medical office and veterinary clinic while working her way through college. She always had interesting stories to tell about the movie stars bringing their pets to the clinic. She then pursued her next dream and graduated from California State University at Northridge with a B.S. and nearly an M.S. in environmental science and passing the state exam as a registered sanitarian. She first met her husband to be, Dr. James O. Britt, Jr. while volunteering at the county veterinary laboratory. She worked for Los Angeles County Health Department, often doing food service facility inspections in the more run- down parts of Los Angeles but she said the residents looked out for her.
After her only child, Penelope Poppers was born, the family moved to Little Rock in 1988 where she eventually was employed by North Little Rock Code Enforcement and became the department head. She retired in 2005 to take care of her mother but loved teaching in the children’s Sunday School for many years at Asbury United Methodist Church where memorials may be sent. She is survived by her husband, Jim, and Penelope.
