Biography: Vivian Marie Mackzum Hall is in God’s loving embrace as of Sunday, April 25th, 2021. She was almost 99 years old at the time she and the love of her life came together after being 17 years apart. They were ‘Bibs and Biddy’ to all who knew them. She was a WAVE in WWII, while her new husband was away fighting in Africa, Italy and Germany. Thankfully, their dreams were answered when they were able to reunite and start their family. She is survived by her children, Barbara (John) Rhodes of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Withers Bryan Hall of Silverdale, Washington, William Douglas (Sandie) Hall of Gaffney, South Carolina as well as 5 grands and multiple great-grands.
Moving from Kentucky with her husband and children she set up many homes. These homes were in: Utica, New York; Briarcliff Manor, New York; Greenwich, Connecticut; Ridgewood, New Jersey; Geneva, Illinois; Little Rock, Arkansas; Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Pennington, New Jersey; Princeton, New Jersey; Richmond, Virginia; Mechanicsville, Virginia; North Little Rock, Arkansas. Every home she improved with her interior design talent.
Her neighbors knew that she would always ask if there was anything she could do for them. She listened and acted even to the extent of convincing North Little Rock to install a speed bump on her street. Helping others is what kept her behind the wheel until she was 95. She worked at Stiffs Jewelers, downtown and at University Mall, in the mid 1960’s. Later in her career she was greeted as ‘Vivian’ when she walked through the front doors at Tiffanies in NYC since she was the respected buyer for the china, silver and crystal department at La Vake’s, located across the street from Princeton University.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock or St. Jude Hospital in Memphis. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 3rd, at 10 a.m., at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
