Biography: Bettye L. Lazenby, of Little Rock, died Wednesday, July 25th, 2007. She was born in Faulkner County to the late W.A. and Grace Smith Griggers. Bettye was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Bettye is predeceased by two brothers, Alvin L. and Norman Griggers, six sisters; Mary Ruth and Carrie Sue Griggers, Ruby Hedrick, Lucille Ruple, Thelma Acklin, and Christine Ballard. She is survived by her husband Bill Lazenby of Little Rock, 2 nephews, Travis Acklin and Dennis Acklin of Conway, Arkansas, 5 nieces; Saundra Hatch of Little Rock, Ann Barling of North Little Rock, Cheri Mulkey of Bryan, Texas, Carol Hayes of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Marilyn Russell of Ft. Worth, Texas, and several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank St. Vincent Infirmary, Odyssey Hospice, and the wonderful staff at the Briarwood Nursing Home for their loving and compassionate care. There will be a memorial service held Friday (today) at 2pm, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church officiated by The Reverend Susan Payne, The Reverend Carey Stone. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com . In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to a favorite charity.

Dear Bill,
