Biography: Jane Daniel Cole died peacefully at Parkway Village in Little Rock, on Sunday, July 22, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, in the Chapel at Second Presbyterian Church, Little Rock. Jane Cole was born in Arkadelphia in 1914 to John Tony and Susan Elizabeth Taylor Daniel. She grew up in Arkadelphia and graduated with honors from Quachita Baptist College. After graduation she moved to Philadelphia, Miss., to work for her uncle, John Gilbert Gammill, in the lumber mill at nearby Deemer, Miss. There she met and married Wilbur Franks Cole, who preceded her in death in 1969. In 1999, Jane moved to Parkway Village in Little Rock where she enjoyed and participated enthusiastically in various community activities and friendships. Her eight years at Parkway were a special time for her in the latter days of her life. Jane is survived by three daughters, Elisa Cole Ross and husband Dr. Ashley Ross of Little Rock; Carol Cole Levin and husband Seymour Levin of Greensboro, NC; and, Dr. Susan Cole Noble of New Orleans. Jane was the proud grandmother of seven grandsons: Dr. Ashley Ross, Jr., and his wife, Matty, of Little Rock; Daniel Ross of Los Angeles; David Hand and his wife, Jennifer, of Nashville, Tenn.; John Hand and his wife, Shawndell, of Atlanta; Doug Noble and his wife, Angie, of Jackson, Miss.; Dr. Stuart Davis Noble of Tucson, Ariz.; and, Richard Scott Noble of Oxford, Miss. She also had eight great-grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her brother, John T. Daniel, Jr. of El Dorado, and her sister Elizabeth Daniel McMillan of Arkadelphia. The daughters wish to thank the caring staff at Parkway Village and Hospice. Special thanks go to Robyn Gardner for their loving assistance with their mother.
