Biography: On Monday morning, February 8, 2021, Alma Frances Fry took Jesus’ hand and made the walk with Him into paradise.  She was happily greeted by her mother and father, Minnie and Sam, her beloved son, Luke, her brothers, Harold and Franklin, and a host of friends and relatives that preceded her passing.  She was a dedicated mother, beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, favorite aunt and devoted friend to all she met.  She was born on November 3, 1926 in Buhler, Kansas.  Although she never had a birthday party as a child, she never missed attending a birthday party, sending a birthday card or decorating a cake for a family birthday.  We will miss her cooking, her smiles, her stories, her laughter, her joy of life, her love of children, her beautiful decorated cakes and her pride in “being 94 years old” but not looking like it.

She is survived by her three daughters, Bonnie Jean “Jeannie”, Diane and Toni (Peter); 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all who look forward to being lovingly greeted with her open arms when we take the same walk someday that she has taken.

The family wishes to thank Kindred Hospice for the care and assistance provided.  A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place in Kansas, at a future date, when the weather is warmer, where her cremains will be interred next to her mother and father.  The family requests that donations in her honor be made to either your favorite charity or the Lakeview Village Foundation https://www.lakeviewvillage.org/foundation/ or make a check payable to Lakeview Village Foundation with “Ridgeview” in the memo line 9100 Park Street, Lenexa, KS 66215.   An online guestbook may be signed at RuebelFuneralHome.com

Lillian Vigneron was a life-long friend of Alma. As Lillian's little sister, I have many fond memories of Alma. How much the two of them enjoyed long telephone conversations in these last years till Lillian's death in November of 2019. Her sense of humor and strong fortitude brought her through many early challenges when her mother died at an early age and Alma was left to take on the household duties. The artistic flare she had was remarkable. I recall the time Lillian and I drove to visit her, some years ago when Lillian was still very able to travel. We so enjoyed seeing her very pleasant apartment and the conversation was none stop! We are assured that the two of them are now doing that--none stop. May you find assurance in God's ever present love in this time of deep sorrow.

I was saddened to hear of Alma's passing. She was such a joy and welcoming lady and such a special friend to my mom, Lillian (Epp) Vigneron. I know that mom always wished they lived closer together. Mom valued and looked forward to their phone calls and letters. She especially enjoyed her visit with Tony and Alma several months before she passed. She was so excited to see them and spend some quality time although it was short. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time. I am sure that mom and Alma had quite the reunion and lots of laughs. God Bless each of you!
