Biography: Sarah Jane Guzman, 36 of central Arkansas, joined the heavenly choir on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from complications with multiple lung infections.
Sarah was born in Searcy, AR on November 9, 1984. She attended Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts, and graduated from Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2002. She attended Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee and graduated in 2008 from the University of Arkansas Little Rock with a bachelor of arts in vocal performance.
Sarah leaves behind her husband, Alex Guzman, her children, Layla Jane and Samuel James, mother, Rebecca Kershaw, sisters Elizabeth Vaughn (Stephen), Mary Ibis (Ismail), grandmother Betty Jane Liddle-Deaver, nieces Abigail Jane and Lillian Anne Vaughn, nephews Dawson Gregory and Eren James Ibis, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and many, many dear friends.
Sarah worked with many friends and coworkers from Legacy Termite and Pest Control. She also was the 9:00 worship music leader and the children’s music assistant at Second Presbyterian Church, both in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Sarah loved her children and they were her first and best hobby. She also enjoyed art, movies, both watching and performing in live theater, and spending time with family.
A private funeral is being held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Second Presbyterian Church. A recorded version will be available on the church’s website. A graveside service open to the public, is being held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for the family has been established through her church at Second Presbyterian, Little Rock.

I am so sad to hear of this news. Sarah Jane was one of my favorite students at UALR--a great student, very intellectually curious and open to learning about new things; a wonderful performer, especially in comic opera and operetta; very friendly and personable. My department is better for having had her here, and the world is a sadder place that she is no longer with us. But somewhere she's listening to her old Concert Choir-mates sing the Irish Blessing, and is at peace.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of SJ. She was so good to me when I first started at Legacy Termite and Pest. She was so smart, funny and just full of life. She had a great voice. I'm praying for Alex, Sammie and Layla. I'm just so sad for them but prayers that god will give peace and understanding in the days ahead. Rest in Peace Sarah Jane. You are so missed already.

Truly, I do not even know what to write. I’m heartbroken for you all... I/We should be happy for Sarah Jane. She has won the ultimate prize, and sits with our Heavenly Father in a beautiful, perfect place. But, I don’t understand, because I don’t think there is anything about the loss of Sarah Jane that is “fair.” However, I will continue to have FAITH, and pray for growth and understanding. Father, please “show me the way” to lift and support Sarah Jane’s family and friends. Lord, in your Mercy, please hear our prayers.

Our love, prayers and blessings to each family member and the unknown number of friends Sarah Jane encompassed during her busy outgoing lifetime. We, along with everyone she knew will have a major adjustment for healing. We will include everyone is our daily prayers.
