Biography: June Dudney Runyan Riddick, 91, was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 19, 1929 and died on December 6, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Kader Riddick, Jr., the love of her life, who died on December 10, 1997.
Her parents were Joseph Thurston Runyan and Maxie Sterling Stone Runyan. June is survived by her three children Cinde Leigh Bauer, Dr. Frank Michael Bauer III, and Edgar Kader Riddick III and his wife Lisa Curtis Riddick; three grandchildren, Dr. Thurston Matthew Bauer and his wife Hannah Hodges Bauer, Edgar Kader Riddick IV, and Rebecca McCrea Riddick.  In addition, she also has five great-grandchildren, Maddox Emerson Bauer, Tucker Grey Bauer, Zoe Madison Bauer, Remmington Maverick Bauer and Finn Wylder Bauer.

June attended Randolph-Macon College where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and Phi Beta Kappa, graduating with honors in 1950 with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Music.  Throughout her life, she loved playing the piano, dogs, especially Dalmatians, poetry, literature, and all aspects of nature, especially gardening. From memory, Mother could recite poetry and play such piano classics as Clair de lune, Malaguena, and the Warsaw Concerto. Our mother lived a long and full life with gratitude, determination, happiness, and gusto.

Memorials can be made to CARE for Animals, Inc., 5516 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, AR 72207.  A private family burial was held at Roselawn Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, RuebelFuneralHome.com

“So live, that when thy summons comes to join The innumerable caravan, which moves To that mysterious realm, where each shall take His chamber in the silent halls of death, Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,  Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed  By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave, Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.” William Cullen Bryant.

Mike and Cinde, I’m so sorry for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting your mother, but I know she was special because she raised both of you. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Cinde and Ed: So sorry to read of the recent loss of your Mother. I know how difficult it can be to lose the last parent -- this also happened to me this year (my Dad). I know your Mom through my employment with Riddick Engineering Corporation (1979-1987). From my perspective, June always projected an energetic & positive attitude. Behind the scene, her words of praise & encouragement pushed me to succeed even more. I think she was a mathematician at heart -- because she was meticulous with numbers. With a smile on my face.....I remember her praising the health benefits of orange juice, encouraging good posture (shoulders back), and the use of Avon's Skin-So-Soft to repel insect bites. Although many years have passed, I feel fortunate to have known and worked with both Mr. Riddick,Jr and June. Again, my sincere condolences to the entire family.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your mother and grandmother. I remember her many years ago when "our kids" were in school together and also events with our husbands. Please know that all your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God's love, peace and blessings on each of you.

I went to school with Edgar and Cinde at Forest Park Elementary school, and worked with Mike at Baptist Hospital. Edgar, I can still picture you from our elementary years. I'm so very sorry y'all have had to say goodbye to your beautiful mother. She was born the same year as my father.
Although life is never the same once our parents are gone, I know that we will see them again someday, and it will be as if no time at all has passed. I can still hear their voices, and feel their presence.
God bless you all.
