Biography: Anne Arthur Church, age 87, of Little Rock, AR passed away on November 4, 2020, due to complications from a stroke.  Born in Hot Springs, AR to Sue and Frank Parrino, Anne graduated from Dumas High School in 1952 and attended the Arkansas State Teacher’s College/UCA in Conway.  In Conway, she met the love of her life, John Calvin Arthur.  They married in 1953 and raised two sons, Mike and Pat, in Helena, AR where John was Agency Manager for Farm Bureau Insurance for many years.  While living in Helena she worked at Farm Bureau and was active in everything involving her boy’s school and at The United Methodist Church.  The Arthur kitchen became the gathering place for family and friends due to her exceptional cooking skills: a place well-known for her homemade rolls and delicious pound cake.

After John’s untimely death in 1976, Anne later married Carroll Bush of Helena, AR.  Carroll and Anne spent twenty wonderful years together traveling abroad, riding motorcycles and enjoying the horse races at Oaklawn Park.  After Carroll’s death, Anne moved to Little Rock where she eventually met and married Dr. Marion “Mickey” Church.  Anne and Mickey enjoyed ten years together playing golf and traveling until Mickey’s death in 2015.

Anne’s optimistic, can-do attitude was a compliment to the strength she displayed as she faced widowhood, battled breast cancer, and consistently made the best of everything life handed her.  Anne was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother (Mimi), and great-grandmother.  In addition to the love she held for her family, Anne also cherished many life-long friendships.  She enjoyed going to movies, exercising regularly, reading and cheering on the Razorbacks.

Anne was proceeded in death by her parents, Sue and Frank Parrino and her loving husbands, John Calvin Arthur, Carroll Bush and Dr. Marion “Mickey” Church.  She is survived by sons Mike Arthur (Becky) of Little Rock, AR and Pat Arthur (Lauren) of Dallas, TX and four grandchildren Greg, Eric (Whitney), Erin, Burke, a great-grandson, Wynn, and was excited about the newest one, expecting his arrival any day.

Memorials may be made to CARTI of Little in her memory.  Due to Covid-19, a private graveside service will be held in Helena, AR and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Arkansas Hospice/St. Vincent Hospital and also invite those who would like to pay respects to Anne at Ruebel Funeral Home, Thursday, November 5, 2020 and Friday, November 6, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

You don't know me, but my husband and I lived two doors from Anne in Montagne Court. We enjoyed seeing her having coffee in the front yard and chatting with her as she walked the neighborhood, always with a smile on her face. She will be missed. May God bless you during this time.
