Biography: On Thursday, October 8, 2020, Shelley Streett Grunden, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away at age 79.
Shelley was born on February 27, 1941 in Camden, Arkansas to Johnson Bruce and Gertrude Sanderson Streett.
She graduated from Camden High School and attended Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
She spent her professional life dedicated to helping disadvantaged adults and children.
Shelley was preceded in death by her father, Johnson Bruce Streett, her mother, Gertrude Sanderson Streett, and four brothers: James Albert Streett, John Bruce Streett, Julian Duval Streett and Alexander Graham Streett.
She is survived by her twin sister, Gertrude Streett Kenny of Reno, Nevada; former husband, Thomas Adam Grunden; two beloved daughters, Julia Reid Sawyer-Wood and husband Augustus Bruen Wood; and Catherine Anne Grunden all of Little Rock, Arkansas; along with five grandchildren; Hunter Reid Sawyer and wife Danielle, Emma Catherine Sawyer, Thomas Johnson Sawyer, Shelbie Delozier and husband, Josh, and Kyle Bruen Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shelley had a deep and steadfast passion for gardening and all things outdoors. She absolutely adored bird watching and was the go-to phone call when her family or friends needed a bird, plant, or tree identified. She was also a true fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and was overjoyed with their recent SEC win over Mississippi State.
She was known for her sharp sense of humor, tell it like it is point of view, and kind and compassionate spirit.
A small family memorial mass will be held Wednesday, October, 14, 2020 at St. John Catholic Church in Russellville, Arkansas at 2 o’clock p.m.

In just a little while all of the pain and sorrow that we feel from the death of our love ones will cease and be replaced with joy, because the former things have passed away. Truly sorry for your loss.
