Biography: Jimmy Ples Spradley, 88, passed away October 7, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on January 5, 1932 and lived most of his life in Little Rock.
After graduating from Little Rock Junior College with a two-year degree, he earned a BA in business administration from the University of Arkansas in 1953. He and business partner Daryl Coker co-founded Spradley & Coker group insurance agency in 1979, which became the largest independent Third-Party Administrator in Arkansas. In October, 2019, both Jim and Daryl were inducted into the Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame. Daryl said “Without a doubt, the best career decision I ever made was teaming up with Jim. You couldn’t have a better partner and it resulted in a 48-year friendship that I will always treasure.”
Jim served the community on too many boards to list, including as president of the Little Rock School Board and the Arkansas Arthritis Foundation.
