Biography: Jean Meryl Greenslade, 90, died on September 30, 2020, at Elmcroft Assisted Living in Maumelle, Arkansas.   Her funeral service will be held Friday, October. 9, at 11:00 am at St Mark’s Church in Little Rock followed by interment at the St Mark’s Columbarium.  Social distancing and masks will be required.
 
Ms. Greenslade was born on September 2, 1930 in Pontarddulais, Wales.  She earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing from Texas Women’s University and served as Director of Nursing at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston (1975-1995) and at University of Arkansas for Medical Science (1995-1999). She was very active in the Episcopal Church and supportive of many charities including the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.
 
She was predeceased by father, Idris Emlyn Jones, mother, Margaret Ann Jones, and brothers Cyril V. Jones and Hilton P. Jones all of Wales.  She is survived by sister-in-law, Joan Jones and nephew, Simon Jones of Tumble, Wales.  Survivors also include foster daughter, Allison Travis and godson, Thomas Travis of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
 
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, all donations should be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Meryl was a treasured colleague. The world of health care will miss her as will all her friends.

I so enjoyed visiting with Meryl when I would bring her communion when she was still at home. A wonderful beautiful lady. RIP Meryl. And my prayers are with the family.

With all wishes for God’s comfort to Meryl’s family and friends. Hers was a life well lived in service. Her voice added a lovely lilt at St. Mark’s Pentecost service in years past, and we were blessed to have her among us.
