Biography:

Kay Wood Radcliffe Peterson was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1927 to J.V. Radcliffe, founder of Peerless Engraving Co., and Katherine Wood Radcliffe, a commercial artist.
 
Kay was a graduate of Little Rock (Central) High School in 1945.  She was a member of the Quill and Scroll Society, an artist for the high school annual, and a member of Delta Beta Sigma Sorority. 
 
In 1947 she married Elvin H. Peterson, a photo-engraver at Peerless Engraving who later became Vice President. They had three children and remained married for 38 years until the time of his death in 1985.
 
Kay was a Girl Scout leader in the 50's and a volunteer at the Fair Park School in the RUN (Reading Understanding Now) program.  Kay and Elvin were members of the Oak Forest Promenaders Square Dance Club.  During the integration crisis in 1957, she was an activist in bringing about racial equality.
 
In the 60's Kay was a volunteer for the Red Cross at the V.A. Hospital and St. Vincent's Infirmary.
 
She was a volunteer artist and auxiliary member of OIC (Opportunities Industrialization Center).  She sold her arts and crafts at the Arkansas Territorial Museum gift shop and developed collage cards that were sold in Little Rock and Dallas.
 
She is survived by a daughter, Dana Euler, of Durham, NC, and one son, Jim Peterson (Gretchen) of Dallas, Texas, and her friend Samuel Crook.  She has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

My condolences to your family. Her son Steven and my brother Jim became a friends when I was very young. Kay and my mother were also friends.
