Biography: William "Bill" H. Riley, Jr., M.D. died August 28, 2020. He was born January 25, 1935 in McGehee, AR to William H. Riley and Jewell Thomasson Riley. Bill was a lifelong resident of Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1952. He attended Baylor University in Waco, TX and graduated and did his post graduate training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock.
Dr. Riley practiced medicine for over 50 years in Little Rock and was a co-founder of The Family Clinic which is now St. Vincent Family Clinic. He served as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Family Medicine at UAMS. He was a past president of the medical staff at Baptist Health and was a member of the medical staff at SVI.
He was a member of Pulaski County Medical Society, Arkansas Medical Society, American Medical Society and Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians. He was a Charter diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Bill was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, CCLR, previous Rotary Club 99 member and a 32nd degree Mason. He enjoyed many sports including camping, hiking, sailing, tennis, canoeing and later in life golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Elizabeth McEwen Riley and son William H. Riley, III.
He is survived by his wife Robbie Braunfisch Riley, daughters Robin Smith (Robert) of Bella Vista, Rayma Ross of Little Rock, and Beth Richard (Richard) of St. Louis, MO and stepsons Albert Braunfisch (Traci) and Pete Braunfisch (Kristen) of Little Rock. He is also survived by grandchildren Zachary and Nathan Smith, Madelyn Lalk, Thomas Weber, Megan and Morgan Ross, Hannah and Austin Richard, Christian, Hans, Josef, John Peter and Emily Braunfisch and four great-grandchildren.
