Biography: Robert George “Bob” Brave , 92, of Little Rock died Monday, July 20, 2020.

Bob was born June 30, 1928 in Evanston, Illinois, the son of German immigrants George and Anna Brave.

Bob graduated from New Trier High School and Northwestern University where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956. He went on to become one of the first Executive Directors of the Little Rock Port Authority.

Bob was a decorated Korean War veteran earning several medals including his greatest honor, the Silver Star, for his bravery and valor prior to his capture as a prisoner of war.

He was an avid golfer, loved bass fishing and was a wonderfully talented artist who created incredible pieces of furniture which many of his friends and loved ones will cherish for years and pass down as family heirlooms. Bob had such a great sense of humor which he carried with him until the very end. He touched so many and will be remembered and missed by us all.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Jane Hinman “Janie” Brave, daughters Nancy Webre (Mark), Jeannie Roberts (Larry),  Elizabeth Cortinez (Robert), son Peter Brave, grandchildren Peter Webre, Towner Webre, Thomas Roberts (Valerie), Cicely Erwin (Miles), Gordy Brave, Trey Cortinez, Carly Cortinez McNew (Josh), Caleb Cortinez, and great grandchild Adeline McNew.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents George and Anna Brave, his sister Ann Hasselberg, and his son Robert George Brave Jr.

A private family interment will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, but due to Covid there will be no gathering. The family appreciates all the prayers, love and support from our wonderful extended family and friends.

Dear Janie, Peter and family,
June and I were shocked to see that Bob had passed away. We both loved him dearly. His wonderful sense of humor was delightful. We also know he has now seen the face of God and is enjoying the dinner that has been prepared for him, even though Peter didn’t prepare it. Please accept our deepest sympathy and may he Rest In Peace. We will keep him and your family in our prayers.
