James Frederick "Pete" Gunn

Biography:

 
James Frederick “Pete” Gunn, 81, passed away on June 15, 2020 in Maumelle AR.  Known for his fun-loving personality, quick to a joke and always saw the good in people;  he will be missed. 
 
Pete was born in Quitman, Arkansas and attended college at the University of Central Arkansas where he earned a bachelors degree in Economics and Sociology as well as a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling.
 
Pete was preceded in death by his mother (Cleo Bird Gunn) and father (Fred Gunn).  He is survived by his wife Gail, of 20 years, children:  Kelly Ward (Rick), Justin Gunn (Sheri), Leslie Alston, Eric Alston (Jennifer).  He was blessed with 8 grandchildren.
 
Pete was a retired professional account manager in IT where he spent the majority of his career with IBM within the SRA division.  He loved traveling Arkansas and developing great working relationships throughout all of the school districts in Arkansas.
 
By way of an immediate family gathering, Pete’s ashes will return to the family farm he loved in Quitman. 
 
In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to the Arkansas Foodbank and Arkansas Hospice Foundation

Pete was such a great guy !!! He taught me how to tell time on my Mickey Mouse watch - back in the 60’s

Such a great guy. We were good friends at ASTC. Last time I saw him was at Dr.’s office and we had a good visit. Know all the family will miss him. Even though we have not been close in several years there are still wonderful memories and a sense of loss. Praying for each of you.
