Nancy Moses Lindsey Kane

Jun 18th, 1943 - May 7th, 2020

Biography: Nancy Moses Lindsey Kane, age 76, of Paron (Pulaski County), Arkansas, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 7, 2020. She was born on June 18, 1943, in Evanston, Illinois, and is the daughter of the late Robert Pugh Lindsey and the late Mary Moses Lindsey. She is also the great granddaughter of the late C. Hamilton Moses and Lena Goodwin Moses, Lake Hamilton’s namesake. Nancy was loved by family and friends. She had many facets to her life and they were all equally important to her. The love for her family was indescribable. Nancy also had a deep love of horses and she rose to the heights not seen before, or most likely unattainable today in the Walking Horse Industry, by riding and winning 43 consecutive horse championships in the Young Riders category. She also became a two time World Champion. She won the Juvenile World Championship on Go Boy’s Jet, and came back several years later to claim the 1974 Amateur Mare World Championship on Delight’s Rhythm Queen alongside her proud father who was lovingly known as “Mr. Bob” in the Walking Horse Industry. She also judged several horse shows and spoke on her father’s behalf at his induction into the Arkansas Bird Dog Hall of Fame.

Nancy graduated from Hall High in 1961, and was a member of the “Hall High Beauties”. After graduation from Northwestern University, she became an employer consultant in Chicago. She was immediately successful and opened offices in New York City. She enjoyed her career, but moved to Little Rock to be with family and friends. Nancy was a talented interior decorator and spent 20 years in the offices of Victor Zanovich Interiors. She was also an executive tax  preparer for H&R Block completing over 400 tax returns each year. She had a love of cooking and worked tirelessly for many years on her cookbook, “Cooking for a Cure” in loving memory of her daughter, Kelli Munroe Binsky.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother (known as Nonnie). She was a loyal friend, never short on advice and guidance for those in need. She had a quick wit, fun sense of humor and knack for knowing just the right thing to say at the just the right time. The family would like to especially thank her longtime horse friends, Ronal and Judy Young and Robin Wallace Strain for their love and support through the years.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Lindsey, sister Robin Lindsey and her daughter Kelli Munroe Binsky. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, David R. Kane, sister Mary (Mero) McCreery, daughter Lindsey Munroe, daughter Errin Stanger and son-in-law Scott Stanger, step daughter Kathy Couture and her husband Brad, stepson Darby Kane and his wife Jana, stepson Mark Kane and his wife Kathy, grandchildren Chase Binsky, Woodrow Dean, Caroline Dean, Kevin Couture (Camille), Kyle Couture, Shelby Couture, Mallory Simmons, Morgan Suddeth (Stuart), Parris Kane, Kylie Kane, Chris Kane (Chelsea), and Addison Kane along with great grandchildren Autumn Couture, Willow Suddeth, Presleigh Suddeth, Bennett Kane, Darby Kane and niece Meredith Flanagin.

To honor Nancy’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. We will celebrate her life with a gathering of family and friends at a later date. The family would like to thank UAMS Longevity Clinic and Arkansas Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Pulaski Heights Methodist Church, Susan G. Komen of Arkansas or the Walking Horse Trainers Association. Please visit the online guest registry at https://www.ruebelfuneralhome.com/.

Nancy was a very special friend. So full of life and laughter. We were friends from first grade through high school and beyond. I always looked forward to our being together. In the last few years our visits were way too sporadic which grieves me even more. I will miss her dearly. My condolences to David and all the Kane’s and Nancy’s beautiful daughters.

I am a long time friend of David Kane, one of the best tennis players ever in Arkansas, an extraordinarily intelligent man, smart enough to have recruited Wilt Chamberlin for David Kane’s college (the University of Kansas), smart enough to have recognized the era of “computerization” before it even began, and so on. I also knew generally of his wife’s, Nancy’s, distinguished life. Having today read of her life more specifically, my friend David Kane clearly married up!

What can anyone say that has not been said. We, who were "close" "close" friends of hers at Hall High thought she had blossomed then, but this was certainly not the case. I can only remember the good times we had and that is as it should be. There were so many people whose path she crossed and they are much better for it. The last time I remember seeing Nancy we were all (8) in a station wagon driving thru dragon flies down the highway to De Valls Bluff - specifically Murrays Restaurant ( in a train car) couple of beers, couple of shooters and a lot of laughs. Being in California for so long I was out of touch and this is sad however you can never take the memories away. That bubbling energy will still be alive at the next level. God rest her soul and comfort her family.
