Wanda did her best to keep us on our toes. She was the perfect neighbor, always there to listen and to tell us a few things, too. Our sympathy to Holt, Rachelle, Will, and Faye. We will miss her wit and front porch gatherings, and we will miss her presence.

Wanda and I have been friends since 7th grade. After graduation, my family went to CA and Wanda went to LR to work. We kept in touch through the years and after retirement we visited each other when we were in the neighborhood, wrote and called often right up til her last days. I will miss her, but I know she was more than ready to be with her loved ones in Heaven. Deepest condolences to Holt and family!

My friendship with Wanda began in the 7th grade at Woodland Heights Jr.High, Harrison,AR. When WWII began,my family moved to CA, but we continued our friendship with news of our life happenings. We visited each other in AR and CA whenever we were in the area. Our telephone conversations have been often since we both became widows keeping us in touch to the end of Wanda’s time on earth. Wanda was so proud of Holt,Rochelle, Faye and Will. My deepest condolence go out to each of you . God’s blessings!

I will lovingly remember and sadly miss my dear friend of many years...She was always positive and upbeat, never complaining. Through the years, we kept in touch via telephone, sharing our lives and news of our loved ones. Offering sympathy and prayers to Holt and family at this time of loss. She will be in my heart and memories evermore.

As a child my family lived just a few doors down from the McConnell home and I was and am good friends with Holt. Wanda was one of those few women in my life I could call a second mother. She was always very sweet to me even when I'm sure I sometimes didn't deserve it. The neighborhood boys used to play football games on their front yard and we were all very close. They say you can't go home again but with the fond memories I have of Wanda I have in my heart home is never far away. Rest in peace my dear friend
