Biography: David Frederick Briggs, beloved son of Dale Whitmore Dildy and Jane Brockman Briggs, died at age 56 on March 14, 2020.  Besides his parents he is survived by his sister and brother in law, Kristen and Steve Woods and his two nieces whom he adored, Erin and Megan Woods.  David was blessed to have a large extended Dildy, Briggs, Whitmore and Finch family and many wonderful friends.

David was baptized at Grace Presbyterian Church and received his religious training there.  He graduated from Hall High School with the distinction of Class Favorite.  David went to the University of Colorado in Boulder with his buddy John Bodenhamer.  Following his freshman year he transferred to the University of Arkansas.  He was a proud Sigma Chi who graduated with a BA in real estate and finance.  David later acquired his MBA from UALR.  Insurance became his profession and his interest in real estate remained until his death.

The family greatly appreciates the care given to David by the UAMS Family Practice Group, Dr. Meek and her staff and lastly by Allison with Kindred Hospice while at his happy last home, Fox Ridge.

Graveside service  will be Tuesday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Karen Akin. All are invited but the family understands that your presence may be felt rather than seen due to the current situation in our country.

Donations may be made to Wolfe Street Foundation in David’s memory if you wish.  The family requests privacy at this time.  Online condolence book can be signed at www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

Dear Dale and Jane, Don Campbell sent me David's obituary. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I think there are few sufferings to compare with the loss of a child. I remember David as a little guy with his sister Kristen in your home that was my adopted home in Little Rock — was it 1967-68? Your hospitality was extraordinary, and I remain grateful for it and for all your kindness to me. You are in my prayers in this difficult time.

Dale, Jane, and Kristen - Susan and I received a note from Don Campbell about David's death. With broken hearts for the three of you, it prompted fond memories of David 60+ years ago of the model of such a warm, caring, and welcoming family of us Yankees newbies at Grace Church for a summer plus full intern year at Grace. You opened your family to us. You brought Susan and I together as a couple (still married after 50+ years). You were model parents for us (who now have 3 children in their forties, all independent and scattered around the country. Most importantly, we remember David (Kirsten, too) as lively and fun children scuttling around the your home, at table and at church. As our hearts are saddened deep, down deep by the loss of David so early, yet rise in hope of his life beyond this life and of your lives that live on, wounded for sure by a hole in your hearts, a missing and aching , but his life will rise and yours will live on. Do know that Susan and I will remember David fondly as a wee tyke and you three with kindness and thanksgiving. Y'all made such a positive difference in our lives...both then and now!

To the Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. David was a very special neighbor, always looking out for everyone on our block. He would clear my path of snow, take my trash cans back during bad weather and keep a watchful eye out for my home when I was out of town. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you at this time.
