Biography: Mrs. L. Gordon Holt (nee Jim O'Lee Steele), aged 85 years, a life-long resident of Little Rock, died Sunday at St. Vincent Infirmary. She was born in Little Rock on August 30, 1921, the daughter of the late John Douglas and Alta Dolores James Steele. She was a graduate of North Little Rock High School, attended Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and was graduated from The St. Vincent Nursing School as a registered nurse. She married Dr. L. Gordon Holt in 1944 and had four children: Dr. Douglas G. Holt of Baton Rouge, LA; Mr. Michael B. Holt, Ms. Lee Holt, and Mr. Timothy J. Holt; five granddaughters, Mrs. Stephen Paulson, Ms. Margaret Holt, Misses Leslie and Anna Holt, and Miss Mayme Wilson; two great-grandchildren, Masters William and John Paulson, all of Little Rock. She was a 55-year member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. Under Mrs. Holt's senior photograph in her high school annual was the phrase, "Jimmie thinks heaven is paved with a dance floor." A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
