Edwin Lee Ross Jr.

Nov 18th, 1944 - Nov 14th, 2019

Biography: Edwin Lee Ross Jr., 74, of Little Rock, died November 14, 2019. He was born November 18, 1944, in Little Rock to Margaret Smith Ross. His father, Captain Edwin Lee Ross of Claremore, Oklahoma, was killed in action in Normandy on July 4, 1944. Although he never knew the love of a dad, he always made his love known to his children and grandchildren.

He was friendly, eccentric, humble, silly, loquacious, well read, curious, and a lover of music, photography and art.

He was a baptized member at 2nd Baptist Church of Little Rock, a graduate of Little Rock Central High School, and a student at the University of Arkansas. After working as a photographer for Dungan-Allen Inc., he opened his own studio where he merged artistry and dark room magic to restore treasured family photos. He was also a photography instructor for many years at the Arkansas Arts Center.

Delighted by his 12 grandchildren, Grandpa Ed eagerly took every opportunity with them to share his stories and cultivate his love of the arts. His quirky personality and unique laugh will be missed by those he loved.

Survivors are his daughter Jennifer Charlebois of Charles Town, West Virginia and husband Joel and their sons Christopher, Aaron, George and Henry; his daughter Robyn Schweizerhof of North Little Rock and husband Karl, their sons Ross, Eli, and Noah; and his son Jonathan D. Ross of Little Rock and wife Tara and their sons Miles, Aidan, Ethan, Benjamin, and daughter Julia. Also surviving are four cousins, Martha Trusten Dworshak of Jacksonville; Carman Burns of Little Rock; Paula Jackson of Oklahoma City; and Linda Lantow Marshall, of Tulsa; and a dear friend, Sharon Dyer of Bryant.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 24, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm at Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel. A private funeral service for close friends and family will be held Monday, November 25, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

Met Ed in high school and have loved him ever since. His cousin Carman and I met him frequently in the past several years to eat dinner. He had such a great personality.
