Biography: Born March 25, 1934 as Eunice Joy Young to Gillis & JJ Swinney. Joy trusted Christ as her Savior as a preteen and served Him her whole life as a choir member, Sunday School teacher, and chair of many committees as well as the home bound ministry at her Lifeline Baptist Church where she was a member for almost 50 years. She served her family sacrificially as a wife and homemaker. She was very active in her community in various ways.

Joy worked as a secretary for the Employment Security Division after raising children.

Joy married Stanley Young in June 28, 1957. They were married for 34 years when Stanley passed.  She is preceded in death by a brother and sister-in law, Marlyn Swinney (Lorene) of Hope, AR. Joy is survived by her siblings Janet Liles (Jackie) of Searcy, AR, Melton Swinney (Betty Sue) of Spring, TX, Betty Charlene Chapman (Vick) of Monticello, AR, Wendol Swinney (Glenda) of Rye, AR, Landol Swinney (Barbara) of Christ Church, New Zeland, and beloved sister -in -laws, Eva Young of Salem, AR and Rose Marie Jones of Jackson, MS, and a special nephew James Alan Young and a special niece Donnia Cox who faithfully served Joy till the end,and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her children Martin Young (DiAlma), Patrick Young (Melanie), and Wanda Rosenbaum (Sid). Her grandchildren Amanda Young, Mason Young, Ashley Young, Marshall Young, Daniel Young, Travis Young, Trey Rosenbaum (Robbi), Rachel Rosenbaum, Calvin Rosenbaum (Cassie), Christian Rosenbaum and great -grandchildren Connor Rosenbaum and Carter Cantu.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:30, Saturday, June 29th at Lifeline Baptist Church (7601 Baseline Rd, Little Rock, AR 72209), followed by a private burial for the family.

We were sad to read about your Mom. She was kind, gracious, and Christ-like. We have good memories of being in the choir with her at Lifelife.
