Jane Chronister

Sep 15th, 1953 - Jun 8th, 2019

Biography: Jane Chronister passed away on June 8, 2019 at the age of 65. In her youth Jane loved to ride horses and spend time on her family farm in Pine Bluff. As a teenager she was tragically injured in a car wreck that greatly diminished her abilities but Jane never lost her dry sense of humor, her stubbornness or her toughness.

Jane leaves her life-long companion, Matt Gray, who helped her have as full a life as she was able to have. They enjoyed camping, fishing and canoeing for as long as Jane was able and then he cared for her in her home. He remained committed to her throughout. He was her life and she loved him more than anything.

She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Cynthia Walker of Little Rock, who loved Jane and cared for her. Jane is also survived by her sister, Pam Bonham (Josh Bonham) of Little Rock, and five nieces and nephews. Jane is predeceased by her parents, Don and Jane Chronister and her nephew, Will Robben of Memphis, Tennessee. Jane was attended to by Dr. Jay Holland who was her life-long friend and physician and who was available to her 24 hours a day. Her best interest was represented by Carol Nokes, her attorney ad litem, whose dedication to Jane was second to none. Cathy Brazeale at Simmons Bank, who managed Jane’s finances, was her true friend and Jane trusted her completely.

Pam and Cindy,
Every encounter I had with Jane, over these many years, started with her beautiful smile; a "Hey Rusty" and a hug. What a wonderful friend she was to me. I have thought about her often over the last several years since I left Arkansas and will have fond memories of her in the future. Rest easy my friend, rest easy.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Jane was a sweetheart. Everybody liked Jane. I remember the car accident. We were all grief-stricken. But, Jane was a trooper. She recovered and came back to school and we were absolutely delighted to see how she recovered. Love you Jane. RIP.
