Biography:
Mary Ellen Brown, 90, of Maumelle, Arkansas died Thursday, June 6, 2019. She was born on April 23, 1929 in Salina, Kansas to Guy and Elizabeth Shamburg.
Mary married Keith Brown on August 20, 1949. They both worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) for over 30 years. They lived, worked and raised their family in Kansas but upon retirement they built a home on Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and spent many years traveling throughout the U.S. in their RV. They made their home in Beaumont, Texas at the conclusion of their travels. Keith died on February 2, 2004. In 2014 Mary moved to Maumelle to be closer to her daughter.
Besides traveling Mary’s interests included sewing, crafting and cooking. She was spunky and funny. Her quick wit and good sense of humor could always make people laugh.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Roe Swetman; grandson, Sheldon Swetman (Ariel); great grandsons, Landon, Logan, Jaxton and Caiden Swetman; sister, Margie Walker and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Keith and son, Scott.
A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home (6313 W. Markham St. Little Rock, AR 72205) on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 1pm, a funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm.
