Biography: Kathy Short Gravis, age 63 of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away April 20, 2019. She was born August 11, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas and was the daughter of DeWitt and Carolyn Short. She was an active member of St. Paul UMC and a Bible study leader at Community Bible Study. She graduated from Hall High School and has a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She loved to play tennis, was an avid sports fan and a passionate follower of the University of Arkansas baseball team. She was also a devoted wife, mother, loyal friend and dog lover. Kathy never met a stranger and had an infectious laugh.Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Carolyn. She is survived by husband Roger, daughter Mary Carolyn, father DeWitt, brothers Sonny, Russ, and David, and faithful dog Camo. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church on 2223 Durwood Road Little Rock, AR 72207. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Boykin Spaniel Rescue. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

Roger,I don?t often check FaceBook and am extremely sorry to have found the notice of Kathy?s death . I would have responded earlier if I had known. I only met Kathy briefly but remember her as your beautiful wife. I understand the loss you, your daughter, family, and friends must be experiencing. I shared the listing with Susan, who knows you indirectly though me, and she too wants to express sorrow. I know Kathy?s memory will always be with you.

My condolences and prayers. I can't imagine the grief you must feel. Kathy was a super lady and I will alwqys have special memories of her. I especially remember the Hugh OBrien Award and the HOBY weekend. You and your family will be in my prayers and thoughts. I cannot attend the service, but, my thoughts will be with you.

Kathy and I grew up in the same neighborhood, attended St. Paul's and were in school together through high school. She was always such a bright light. I remember her smile and great laugh. Kathy was one of those people who brought joy into every room and was so genuinely kind to everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

There wasn?t a year growing up that Kathy wasn?t a part of it. She went on most of our summer vacations to the lake and white river. She was a genuine friend and I will truly miss her!
