Biography: Mrs. Jackie Johnson, 70, died unexpectedly in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 22. A native of Alton, Illinois, Jackie had lived in Little Rock since shortly after marrying her husband of 49 years, Dr. Gerald K. Johnson. She attended public schools in Alton and Marion, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Missouri School of Dental Hygiene. In Little Rock, she was a businesswoman, the owner with her daughter Brenda Majors of Foster Cochran for many years. Jackie was the ultimate hostess and friend, always doing for others. She loved to travel and was happiest when she was planning trips for family, friends, and others. She was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood and a former member and former president of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a former board member of Habitat for Humanity. Jackie was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church, going on many mission trips, and where she was a former Elder, a former Deacon, and a former Sunday school teacher. Survivors are her beloved family: her husband, Dr. Gerald K. Johnson; a daughter, Mrs. Brenda Majors and her husband Paul of Little Rock; two sons, G. K. Johnson and his wife Diane of Atlanta; and Scott Johnson and his partner Quinci Stevenson of Asheville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Jackie Majors and Emily Majors of Little Rock; and Ryan Johnson, Ross Johnson, and Brooke Johnson of Atlanta; and her adored great-granddaughter Kylie. To cherish her memory, she also leaves a multitude of friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church.
