Biography: Denise ?Dee? Terry Williams, 57, of Hawthorne, CA, died on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, at Kindred Hospital South Bay in Gardena, CA, with family and friends by her side. She was born on March 7, 1961, in Hot Springs, AR to Robert and Terry Williams. Dee was married 29 years to Jeff Kessinger who died in 2014. She graduated from Dover High School (Pope County, AR), earned a BA from Hendrix College and a MFA from California Institute of the Arts. She is survived by her sister, Renee Williams and Renee?s husband Chris Stewart of Little Rock, AR, by her cousins Joshi Marshall and Zoe Marshall of Oakland, CA by her cousin twice removed, Elizabeth Rose Black of Conway, AR, by her cousins once removed Werner Frith and Bruce Frith of Little Rock, AR, Johnathon Saldivar-Kitto of IN, Katherine Kott of Oakland, CA, and David Sard of NJ. As an artist, she participated in exhibitions in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Mexico, and the United States. She was a much beloved art and photography teacher starting in 2004 at UCLA, USC, Chaffey College, Loyola Marymount, CA State University, and most recently at Chapman University. Dee was a member of the Board of Directors of the Michael Asher Foundation in Los Angeles, CA from 2012 to 2015. Over the last 17 years, she participated in numerous lectures, panels, performances, readings, and curatorial projects in Mexico City, New York City, and Los Angeles. Her photos have appeared in numerous publications including articles written by her for international art studies journals. She was named an ?artist to watch? in the February 2005 issue of Vogue Italia. A memorial service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham St., Little Rock, AR, 72205 at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2019. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society

It was my great privilege to have Dee on our staff st Ward Advertising Associates in Conway years ago. Such an engaging and talented artist!
