Biography: William Joseph Gaskin, 62, of Little Rock found peace Tuesday, May 15, 2007 after a courageous struggle with cancer. Bill was a registered architect and was President of Gaskin Hill Norcross. He was preceded in death by his parents C. L. and Lorraine Gaskin of El Dorado, Arkansas. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Sue Osborne Gaskin; brother Donald Gaskin of Strong; two daughters, Ashley and her husband Jim Rankin of Little Rock and Laura and her husband Donnie Ross of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Will Rankin, Clara Rankin, Catherine Ann Rankin and Megan Ross. Bill is a graduate of El Dorado High School in and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a bachelors of art and bachelors of architecture degrees in 1968 where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bill joined what is now Gaskin Hill Norcross in 1969 and was broadly experienced in facilities master planning, land use planning, commercial and educational projects. During his career, Bill was a member of numerous civic organizations. He served as President of the Arkansas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects; President of the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Governors Mansion Association; President of the Arkansas Governors Mansion Commission and President of the University of Arkansas School of Architecture Professional Advisory Board. He also chaired the Little Rock Arts and Humanities Council, the City Beautiful Commission and served as an Elder of Second Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Dr. Laura Hutchins, the nursing staff of the Arkansas Cancer Research Center Oncology Clinic and the nursing staff of Unit 6E at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
