Biography: Gus B. Walton, age 77, died in Little Rock on December 27, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Caroline Polk Walton and Gus B. Walton, who predeceased him. Gus had three older sisters, Sue Layton Walton, Caroline (Bebe) Walton Stockton, Cynthia (Cinny) Walton Beard, all of whom predeceased him. Gus is survived by Ellis Bullion Walton, his devoted and loving wife of 56 years and two daughters: Cynthia Walton Frazier (Tom) and Susan Layton Walton Prochazka, both of Little Rock. He is further survived by five grandchildren: McKenzie Ellis Moriconi, Elizabeth Layton Moriconi, Lillian Walton Moriconi, Raina Marie Prochazka, and Niall Augustus Prochazka, 3 step-grandchildren: Alexandra Neal Frazier; Benjamin Cabol Frazier, and William Thomas Frazier, an honorary son, Mark Johnston, from Blue Mountain Beach, Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gus grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Phillips (Andover) Academy, Washington and Lee University, and the University of Arkansas School of Law. Gus was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and served in the Marine Reserve for 6 years until his honorable discharge, having attained the rank of Captain. After law school and Marine officer training, Gus practiced law with the firm of Wright, Lindsey and Jennings in Little Rock for sixteen years. He was a member of the Pulaski County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He served on the executive committee of the Arkansas Bar Association and as a member of its house of delegates. Following his practice of law, in what was described by some as a blip on the Richter Scale of a mid-life crisis, Gus joined Poe Travel and later World Wide Travel, thereby nurturing his lifelong passion for travel and adventure. He later became president of World Wide Travel and also was president of The Arkansas Travel Agents Association. He loved to explore, and traveling satisfied his insatiable curiosity. Gus was a member of the XV club for many years, where his inquisitive mind contributed to several interesting papers on a variety of subjects. Gus loved the ocean, spending summers in Ponte Vedra, Florida as a child. Recently, he completed Walton Pointe, a house for family and friends in Grayton Beach, Florida, a project to which he devoted his full time and attention. Gus?s life was distinguished not only by his professional ability as a lawyer but by his keen wit, love for fast cars, and HB?s barbeque. He was especially devoted to his friends and his beloved family, each of whom were a part of his heart. Gus was a man of honor, integrity and true grit and was revered by his wife, children and grandchildren. ?Granddaddy? was the ultimate grandfather, and he valued time with his family more than anything else. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Joseph Beck and staff, Dr. Andrew Kumpuris, Dr. Mose Hayes (Miramar Beach, Florida), Dr. Lewis Silverman (Mount Sinai NYC) the nursing staff on 4NW and Misti and Morgan in CCU at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary. Following a private family burial, there will be a memorial service at Christ Episcopal Church in Little Rock at 2:00 pm on January 2, 2019. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Little Rock Zoo, One Zoo Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205, Potluck, 621 West Broadway, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114, or to a charity of your choice.

To the Walton Family

We are sorry to hear about the passing of Gus B Walton. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members and firends. Please allow these brief remarks to serve as comfort to the family and friends. No I am not the source of these words, but God is. These words are recorded right in the pages of the Bible. So directing your attention to the sacred writings, God tells us that soon He would use His great powers to call to those in the grave to stand up in life again. ( John 5:28-29) Yes from this one promise, God is giving us His personal guarantee that Gus, and billions of others will have their lives restored back to them. Tht they would be reunited back with their many family members and friends. If you were asked if you wanted to see gus again, I know that your answer would be right. Well this is what God is telling all grieiving hearts. He wants all to have strong faith in this arrangement, so He has preserved nine accoiunts that speaks about this grand blessing soon to take place earth wide. Here is just one such example recorded at John 11:32-44. May all please allow the verses to provide all with true comfort from God. Yes please remember this promise from God. For it is impossible for God to lie. ( Titus 1:2)
