Biography: Janet Kay Bowden, age 64, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, completed her earthly journey and went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2018. She was born on August 12, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Keith and Louise Petersen. On September 8, 1973, she married John Bowden Jr., her husband of 45 years. She was retired from Southwestern Bell and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Her devotion and dedication to her family was exemplified in her roles as daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Affectionately known as ?Mimi? to the grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, she was always blessing them with a listening ear, a comforting word, and a big cheer at their many accomplishments. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and being the best ?Mimi? to her two precious grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano, gathering often with family, cooking treats with her grandchildren, spending time attending her grandchildren's activities, and traveling. She was known for her infectious smile, strong will, kind and compassionate spirit, and quiet grace. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, John N. Bowden Jr.; son, Eric Bowden; daughter, Emily Connell (Kevin); grandchildren, Hailey and Landon Connell; father, Keith M. Petersen; mother, Louise Petersen; sister, Diane Ferree (John); brother, Keith L. Petersen (Linda); niece, Kristin Langrehr (Trent); nephew, Matthew Ferree (Jennifer), and a host of other family members including aunts, uncle, cousins and great nieces and nephews. Condolences to the Bowden family, please know that others care and know the pain you are feeling. Death is an enemy to all of us because death has taken those we loved and left much hurt and a void in our hearts. Jesus Christ promised to call all those in the memorial tombs, they will hear his voice and come out. (John 5:28,29) Yes, the resurrection will be a reality on a peaceful earth. (Psalm 37:29, Acts 24:150

Keith, Louise, Diane, and Keith - Just seeing Janet?s sweet face brings back so many Mano/Petersen family memories at First Christian Church... Although we rejoice knowing she is healed and happy in the presence of Jesus, my heart still hurts for you all ... it?s so hard to say goodbye on earth. I will be praying for you to feel God?s presence as you celebrate her life.
Much love, Jan

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. During this difficult time when there are so many emotions that can be overwhelming, I hope that you can find comfort in your many memories, being surrounded by those who love you and the promises held in the Bible of being reunited with your loved one in the near future.(John 5:28)

I am so sorry for the family's loss. I worked for state of Arkansas with Janet right after we both graduated from high school. We became fast friends, partly because both of our boyfriends were from Evansville, Indiana. She was a wonderful friend. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.
