Biography: Shirley Jean (Butler) Myklebust, " The Enforcer" died on December 21, 2018. She was born on July 26, 1925 to Mary Rovella Butler and Pink L. Butler in Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Myers, Katherine Hart, Rovella Pack; her brother, Perry Butler; her beloved husband of sixty years Charles Robert "Mike" Myklebust; and her son Clark Gene "the fun loving one" Myklebust. She is survived by a rowdy clan of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Pamela Ann "the first born" Busbea, Mary Jane "the peacemaker" Teague, Patti J. "the organizer" Fullington (Andy), Mark Dean "the historian" Myklebust (Diana), daughter-in-law Cheryl Myklebust; grandchildren Jenny Carol "the tame entertainer" Johnston (Danny), Matthew Robert "the wall" Myklebust (Melanie), Elizabeth Ann "the Disney Princess" Baker (Brian), Robert Vaughn "Bobby" (the Angler) Teague, Jr., Jacob Anthony "Joseph the cowboy" Fullington (Carol), Mary Kay "the survivor" Myklebust, Michelle Diane "the little s**t" Tyree (Christopher), and Jon Christian "the baby" Teague (Janet), and great-grandchildren Morgan, Mason and Maddox Myklebust, Dalton and Erin Johnston, Blaine and Shelby Fullington, Tori Myklebust Steves, Jack Tyree, and Christian Teague, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. In her prime, Shirley was a champion bowler, master seamstress, a strict disciplinarian who was quick to swat with anything handy no matter the size or age of the sass talker, a loving devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was above all else, a matriarch. In her later years, as dementia set in, her language was as colorful as the shades of lipstick she wore. Throughout her life, she was loved by all and will be greatly missed; luckily, she has left behind a litany of personal stories, loving memories, and hysterical anecdotes. Her family would like to extend gratitude to all of Shirley's caregivers, nurses, and doctors at Evergreen Living Center in Bryant. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Dementia Society of America or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m. both at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham St., Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.

I knew her as Mimi and mom. She was always smiling whenever I had the opportunity to see her. I have not seen her in many years but kept up with her via her family. I know she will be dearly missed and was a woman full of life and blessings.

The Parodi Family has such wonderful fond memories of Shirley. She was the best next door neighbor we ever had, and such a wonderful friend to my parents. Much love to all of the Myklebust Family. We love you guys.

My dearest grandmother Mimi will be missed by myself and so many. I spent nearly every day after school as child at her and my pawpaw?s house. My Mimi cooked me two grilled cheese sandwiches everyday that NOBODY has been able to duplicate to this day. She was quick to give me ?sugars,? but also fast to have me go pick my own switch off a tree in the back yard for acting up. A lot of times I was ?disciplined? with whatever was handy. When we would leave her house, she?d watch us with the door open until we?d driven away- a trait my mother carries on till this day. I watched her and my pawpaw celebrate their 60th anniversary together and loving each other that day as much, or more, than the day they met. She so very dear to me and understand completely why she?s part of ?The greatest Generation.?

I remember many morning rides to LR Central HS when Shirley picked me and carted me off to school along with her girls. I can see her an "the enforcer" and certainly as the Matriarch! I am so sorry for the family's loss, but I know Shirley has left behind many memories and stories.
