Biography: Caroline Pace Chesnutt Hanna, 47, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Little Rock, AR. She was born on April 18, 1971 and raised in Little Rock. She attended The Cathedral School and graduated from Mount St. Mary High School in 1989. She attended Westminster College in Fulton, MO, where she studied psychology and graduated in 1993. Caroline was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, where she met many women who would become life-long friends. From an early age, Caroline loved to dance, devoting hours to the practice and performance of ballet. She loved all kinds of music and was especially fond of playing drums. She was deeply intelligent, with an insatiable desire to understand religion, mythology and philosophy. She loved the mountains and finding quiet, peaceful places to think and be close to nature. She was an excellent cook and believed a good meal had the magic to bring people together. Caroline?s greatest legacies are her two girls, Mary Hollis and Sarah, intelligent, loving and kind young women who are beautiful on the inside and out. Caroline was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Chesnutt, and her mother, Jane Deal Murray. She is survived by her loving husband, David Hanna, and her two precious daughters, Mary Hollis Schmidt and Sarah Frances Schmidt. She is also survived by her Aunt Judy Deal Morgan; cousins Veronica Brownlee, Kim Walton and David Reed; Uncle John Deal; cousins Eric Deal and Ashley Beitter; half-sisters Gayle Chesnutt Ross and Gwen Chesnutt Landt; cousins Dena Chesnutt DeGraff, Garrett Chesnutt and Tom Chesnutt; and Godmother Carol Bridges. If you are so inclined, donations in Caroline?s honor can be made to Our House (http://www.ourhouseshelter.org) or Wolfe Street Foundation (http://www.wolfestreet.org). A memorial service honoring Caroline?s life will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas with a reception immediately following the service.

I was Caroline’s speech professor at Westminster College back in the fall of 1990. It was my first year, there. I remember her as one of the nicest people in my classes that semester. She was bright, articulate, and a very good public speaker. It’s strange that I was just thinking about her last week. And when I read today’s issue of Leadership, Westminster’s alumni magazine, I saw the sad news. I’m very sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: ?Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".

Advent peace to David and Caroline's whole family. I taught Caroline at MSM in Little Rock and have corresponded with her a few times in recent years. I remember her fondly for her generosity and her gentle spirituality. I know she will be dearly missed by her family and her friends. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
